Ohio’s public schools enrolled 1,652,539 students during the 2024-25 academic year, according to data released by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW).
The newly released school report cards utilize a five-star system to assess school performance across various categories, a change from previous evaluation methods. These ratings encompass areas such as student achievement and progress, as well as College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness (CCWMR). The 2024-2025 report cards mark the first time CCWMR has been included as a component of the state’s school ratings.
The ODEW data indicates a focus on post-secondary readiness, with the CCWMR component evaluating how well schools prepare students for life after graduation. This includes metrics related to earning industry-recognized credentials, completing dual enrollment courses, and achieving qualifying scores on college entrance exams.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is an equal opportunity employer and provider of ADA services, according to information published alongside the report cards.
