Montreal’s Saint James United Church hosts a unique cultural experience: Le Balcon, a cabaret offering a fusion of Latest York-style cabaret and Parisian dinner-theatre. The venue, located in the Quartier des Spectacles, features a diverse program of performances throughout February and into the spring.
On February 12th, Le Balcon is scheduled to present “Best of Soul Motown & Disco” featuring Leslie Snooky Alston. The following evening, February 13th, will see a performance by SATISFACTION, an homage to The Rolling Stones. A gospel brunch, “Brunch Gospel Cabaret Chic” with the JAMVP Choir, is planned for February 14th at 12:30 PM, followed by a St. Valentine’s Day evening performance, “JAZZ, LOVE AND SOUL,” featuring Shaharah & Friends.
The February schedule continues with a jazz evening featuring Mary gRACE on February 19th and an homage to Buena Vista Social Club with Yordan Martinez & TCMS on February 20th. Le Balcon will host DTW & The Jamm performing Motown, Soul & Disco on February 21st, and Darrell Green in a jazz cabaret on February 25th. A benefit cocktail, “PROPULSION- SOULFEST MTL 2026,” with THE BROOKS, is scheduled for February 26th, followed by a performance by THE BROOKS in the church sanctuary. The month concludes with a Led Zeppelin tribute, “Kashmir Experience,” on February 27th, and an evening of disco with JURO Productions on February 28th.
March’s programming includes a salsa night with The Yordan Martinez Band and DJ El Heavy on March 4th, and a Fado performance with Marta Raposo on March 5th. Another performance by Yordan Martinez & TCMS, paying tribute to Buena Vista Social Club, is scheduled for March 6th, and Freddie James Project will perform hits from Soul, Motown, Disco & Pop on March 7th.
Le Balcon offers patrons several options: a three-course table d’hôte dinner and show from front-row seats, or the option to enjoy the show with a signature cocktail from the mezzanine. The venue’s seasonal menu is designed by Kitchen Collectif, with pastries from Crémy, and a wine list featuring private imports. Crowd Bar & Flair has curated a cocktail menu inspired by flavors from around the world. During the summer months, the Balcony Terrace is open. Dawson Hall is available for larger events.
