Hotel Renegade, a boutique hotel in downtown Boise, Idaho, has been named the No. 1 hotel in the city by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026 Best Hotels rankings. The hotel, which opened in May 2024, similarly secured the fourth-best hotel ranking in the state of Idaho and 777th nationally.

The rankings, released this week, consider hotels that meet specific class and review thresholds, with a strong emphasis on luxury properties and verified guest reviews. The overall score is determined by weighing industry awards, hotel class rating, and aggregated guest sentiment from multiple review sources, according to a press release from Geronimo Hospitality Group, the hotel’s owner.

U.S. News & World Report highlighted Hotel Renegade’s “fresh new lodging option” for the city, noting its “moody and bold but inviting color scheme” of navy, deep brown, amber, and dark gray. The publication also mentioned the hotel’s Baraboo Supper Club restaurant, Lobby Bar, and Blue Collar Coffee Co.

Hotel Renegade is a 122-key property located at 11th and Grove Streets. It opened as Boise experienced a boom in tourism and demand for lodging, according to reporting from the Idaho Statesman. The hotel features a restaurant, coffee shop, and rooftop bar.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the people behind these properties,” said Erin McDonald, Vice President of Lodging at Geronimo Hospitality Group. “Our teams show up every day with a deep sense of pride and purpose, delivering thoughtful hospitality rooted in genuine care for our guests. We’re honored to see their work recognized on a national stage.”

Four other Geronimo Hospitality Group hotels were also recognized on the U.S. News & World Report list. Bottleworks Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana, ranked second in both Indianapolis and Indiana. Ironworks Hotel Indy, also in Indianapolis, also received recognition.

In Boise, the Inn at 500 was ranked second by U.S. News & World Report, praised for its elegant accommodations that contrast with the surrounding outdoor landscape. The Sparrow and Hotel 43 took the third and fourth spots, respectively. The Grove Hotel, recently renovated, rounded out the top five in Boise and ranked 11th in Idaho.

Statewide, Shore Lodge in McCall, Idaho, was ranked as the best hotel in the state, recognized for its customer satisfaction and amenities. The Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene ranked second in Idaho, and Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley was third.
