IVE’s Liz Faces Backlash Over Alleged Copying of Wonyoung’s Look

IVE member Liz is facing a growing wave of criticism after social media users accused her of attempting to emulate the appearance of fellow group member Jang Wonyoung. The controversy centers on a recent online update where Liz appeared to have drawn a mole onto her face, in the same location as a natural beauty mark possessed by Wonyoung.

For over a year, changes in Liz’s appearance have been a recurring topic of discussion among fans. Initial attention focused on her weight loss, which was generally well-received. More recently, speculation regarding potential plastic surgery has circulated, drawing mixed reactions, as reported by Koreaboo. The current accusations, however, allege a more deliberate attempt to align her seem with that of Wonyoung, who is widely recognized for her visuals.

Wonyoung is frequently praised for her beauty, including her distinctive beauty marks near her eye and on her cheek. Liz does not naturally have similar markings. Posts circulating on social media, including X (formerly Twitter), highlight the perceived similarity in makeup and styling between the two idols, with particular focus on the newly added mole. Some users have expressed concern, suggesting Liz’s actions are “disturbing” and potentially detrimental to Wonyoung’s sense of identity.

One user wrote, “Liz’s fixation on copying Wonyoung is beyond disturbing. It’s a major red flag for WY’s safety.” Another stated, “Starship is literally turning Liz into a clone.” These sentiments reflect a growing unease among some fans regarding the perceived emulation.

The situation has prompted calls for intervention from Starship Entertainment, IVE’s agency. Some commenters are requesting a hiatus for Liz to address the issue, suggesting professional psychological help is needed. As of February 11, 2026, Starship Entertainment has not issued a public statement regarding the accusations or the online backlash.
