carmelo Hayes learned One Thing From WWE Stars Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns
Carmelo Hayes is quickly becoming one of the biggest stars in WWE NXT, and he credits Cody Rhodes and roman Reigns for helping him understand something crucial about connecting with the audience.
Speaking on The Bump, Hayes explained that watching Rhodes and Reigns work the crowd taught him the importance of slowing down and letting moments breathe. He realized he was rushing through his promos and matches, not allowing fans to fully absorb what he was doing.
“I was watching Cody and Roman, and I noticed they weren’t in a rush,” Hayes said. “Like, they’d hit a move, and they’d just… let it sit. They’d let the crowd react. I was so used to going, going, going, trying to prove myself, trying to get everything in, that I wasn’t letting the fans have a moment with me.”
He added that he’s now consciously working on pacing himself, allowing the crowd to react and become more invested in his performance. Its a lesson he says has made a huge difference in his connection with the NXT Universe.
“Now, I’m trying to implement that. Just slow down, let them react, let them feel it. It’s been a game changer, honestly,” Hayes stated. “It’s something I’ve been working on, and I think it’s made a big difference.”
Hayes is currently the NXT Champion and is set to defend his title against Ilja Dragunov at NXT Deadline on December 2nd. He’ll need all the tools he can get, including this valuable lesson from two of WWE’s top stars.
