Dylan Groenewegen Wins Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana-Gran Premi València
València, Spain – Dylan Groenewegen of Unibet Rose Rockets secured his first victory of the season at the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana-Gran Premi València on Sunday. This marks his first win with his new team, having transferred from Jayco AlUla at the end of last season.
Groenewegen emerged victorious from a lead group that formed along the wind-swept coastal route into València, beating Paul Magnier (Soudal-QuickStep) and Emilien Jeannière (TotalEnergies) to the finish line. He previously won this race in 2024.
The 200km race began in La Nucia, following the coastline before heading inland for two categorized climbs. The final half of the race took place on valley roads along the coast leading into València.
An early breakaway was formed by Samuele zoccarato (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort) and Enzo Leijnse (Anicolor-Campicarn), who built a lead of over five minutes in the first 50km. However, a strong chase led by Soudal-QuickStep, Movistar, Total Energies and Equipo Kern Pharma brought the breakaway back within the peloton with 30km remaining.
