Hiker Dies in Riverside County After Searching for Lost Companions
Riverside County, CA – A hiking trip turned tragic in the mountains near Anza, California, on Saturday evening when one man died after venturing out to find his lost companions. The Sheriff’s Department deployed aviation and mountain rescue units to locate the hikers. according to authorities, one member of the group, fearing for the safety of the others, attempted to locate them independently.This individual was later found deceased at the bottom of a 150-foot rock face.
The initial group of four lost hikers were successfully located by air and hoisted to safety by rescue personnel. They were transported to the Sheriff’s Lake Hemet Mountain station for medical evaluation, but their conditions were not immediately released.
