DOVER, NH – January 16, 2026 – The Dover Public Library is set to host a unique and exciting fundraising event on Tuesday, January 27th, featuring three-time “Chopped” champion chef Evan Hennessey. “Cook for the Books” aims to raise funds to furnish the library’s newly renovated spaces, offering a captivating culinary experience for attendees and supporters.
A Night of Culinary Creativity and Community Support
chef Hennessey, a Dover native, will demonstrate his culinary prowess by creating a three-course meal using mystery ingredients during a live cooking event at his acclaimed restaurant, Stages. The event, beginning at 6:30 p.m., promises a thrilling display of skill and improvisation as Hennessey navigates the challenges of unexpected components. The ingredients themselves were thoughtfully selected through a public vote, ensuring community involvement in the creative process. [1]
Attendees can participate in two ways: by attending a watch party at chapel + Main (83 Main St.) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., or by tuning into the live stream directly from Stages Restaurant. The library, currently operating from a temporary location at the McConnell Center while renovations are underway, has temporarily divided its services: children’s services are located in Room 305, while adult and teen services are housed in the cafeteria.
