HOLLYWOOD, CA – Amidst ongoing ⁤speculation about Warner Bros. ⁤Finding’s potential sale⁢ to ‍Netflix, DC Studios⁤ co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran⁣ have secured extended contracts with the ⁢studio, now set to ⁤expire in⁢ spring⁤ 2027.‍ Thier original four-year deals were previously slated to end in October 2026.

The‌ extension was ⁤revealed ‌in‌ a new profile published by Bloomberg on Friday, signaling continued confidence in the pair’s ⁣vision‍ for the DC Universe. Warner bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who appointed Gunn and Safran after being ⁣impressed by Gunn’s “Superman”⁢ script, offered strong support, ⁤stating: “The⁤ work ⁤of James and Peter, their creative vision, it’s compelling and a great economic return. The next installment in the DC Universe ⁢is “Supergirl,” with the first trailer expected to debut online this‍ Thursday. Advancement ⁣on “Batman: The Brave ‌and the Bold” is also ⁢progressing, though Gunn‍ acknowledged⁣ the‍ film is taking time, stating, “If you’re gonna make a Batman movie,⁣ it better be f-ing awesome.”
