Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was sentenced too three months in federal prison on⁣ December 5, 2024, for violating the terms of his supervised release. The sentence comes after the controversial artist, ‍whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, faced scrutiny for multiple infractions including ⁣unauthorized foreign travel and failure to comply⁣ with location monitoring requirements.

The latest legal setback for 6ix9ine underscores the ongoing consequences stemming from his 2018 racketeering and firearms convictions.Originally sentenced to two⁢ years‌ in prison, he was granted early release in April 2020 due to ⁣concerns ‍about the COVID-19 pandemic, but remained ‍under supervised release. This recent violation jeopardizes his ‌freedom and highlights the ‍strict‍ conditions placed upon him following his cooperation with federal authorities in a case against the Nine trey Bloods gang.Prosecutors argued Hernandez⁣ repeatedly disregarded court orders, citing instances where he left the country without permission, including trips ‍to‍ Dubai and Mexico. They also pointed to his failure to adhere to electronic monitoring and curfew restrictions. The judge presiding over the case expressed frustration with 6ix9ine’s behaviour, stating his actions⁤ demonstrated a disregard for the⁤ law and ⁣a pattern of non-compliance.

Following his prison term, 6ix9ine⁤ will be subject to an additional year of supervised release. The Department of Justice confirmed ⁣the sentencing, emphasizing the importance of upholding the conditions of supervised release to ensure public safety and accountability. Hernandez’s legal team ‍has not yet issued a statement regarding⁣ the sentence.
