A couple in Muíños, Galicia, Spain, experienced a double tragedy this week when a 51-year-old woman died in a traffic collision and her husband succumbed to a heart attack upon learning of her death. The woman was driving near Queroirós when a van crossed into her lane, resulting in a head-on collision. Emergency responders had to extricate her from the vehicle, but she died from her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was transported to the University Hospital of Ourense (CHUO). Subsequent analysis revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.64 mg/l.
Meanwhile,the woman’s husband,concerned by her delayed return home,whent to the site of the accident. Upon being informed of his wife’s death, he collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, he also died, according to sources from the Guardia Civil.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
