Clemson Lands Elite Dual-sport Athlete Tait Reynolds in 2026 Class

CLEMSON – Clemson⁤ officially welcomed four-star quarterback Tait Reynolds⁤ to the program Wednesday, securing a commitment that began⁢ with a summer camp visit in 2024. Reynolds, from Queen Creek‌ High School (AZ), remained steadfast in his pledge despite a 7-5 season for the Tigers.

Reynolds⁢ emerged as Clemson’s top quarterback target ⁢during a camp visit and committed shortly thereafter. He received nearly‌ 30 football scholarship offers from programs including Colorado, North Carolina, Miami, Texas A&M,⁤ and Oklahoma, but ultimately chose to honor his commitment to Clemson. Initially committed to play baseball at Arizona State, Reynolds’ focus shifted to football as his talent at quarterback⁣ became ‍increasingly apparent.

“This is one of the most unique kids ⁣I have recruited,” said head coach Dabo Swinney.‌ “This is a special talent.”

Swinney highlighted Reynolds’ extraordinary arm strength⁤ and athleticism, describing him as “big,‍ strong, [with] ‌ a cannon for an arm” and⁣ capable of “flying.” He emphasized Reynolds’ willingness to travel from ⁢Arizona based on trust in the program.

Reynolds intends to play both football and baseball at Clemson, though he will focus⁣ solely on football as an early enrollee, with potential ‍baseball participation slated for 2027. ‍He is ⁤eager to compete for the⁣ starting quarterback position, particularly after a senior season hampered ⁢by a hamstring injury.

“We got some dudes on⁣ this campus that all want to be the guy,” Swinney stated. “That is what they ‌came here for.”
