Lerdo Showcases Student Creativity in Vibrant Art & Culture Exhibition
Lerdo, November 29, 2025 - A dazzling display of artistic talent filled the lobby of the hermila Galindo Theater last Friday night as the Art and Culture Directorate presented an exhibition showcasing the work of its workshops. The event highlighted the diverse skills of Lerdo students, ranging from traditional crafts to musical performance.
The exhibition, which began at 6:00 PM, featured colorful creations from workshops in Mexican cardboard art, pencil drawing, oil painting, and knitting. Attendees admired “Alebrijes” crafted from cardboard, Christmas dolls, keychains, hats, and hand-knitted scarves. Performances followed on the main stage, including a vibrant folkloric dance set to traditional music like “Mezcalito” and “La Culebra,” guitar melodies including “Hermoso Cariño,” and energetic Latin rhythms featuring “Rock and Roll” and “Chica de Humo.” Student Faridi Navarrete delivered a vocal performance of “Te voy a amar,” and the Youth Children’s Symphonic Band performed a medley including ”Estrellita,” “Bohemian rhapsody,” and “Carnaval.”
Recognitions were awarded to both students and teachers for their dedication and contribution to the arts. Héctor Escamilla Ávila, Director of Art and Culture, emphasized the importance of these events in showcasing student achievement. He stated the Municipal President, Susy Carolina Torrecillas Salazar, is deeply committed to promoting art, culture, history, traditions, and sports throughout the municipality, and continues to create free spaces for learning and community engagement.
This commitment was further demonstrated by the recent inauguration of Bullfighting and canoeing Schools, and the launch of a Soccer school at the sacramento Sports Complex, according to officials. The event underscores the Lerdo government’s ongoing investment in accessible arts education and community enrichment.
