Putin’s Daughter Expresses Regret Over Ukraine War
PARIS – Luiza Rozova, widely reported to be a daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has publicly expressed regret over her father’s military actions in Ukraine. The 22-year-old, who lives in Paris and works with art galleries, responded to a direct appeal from Ukrainian journalists to urge her father to halt attacks on Kyiv.
Rozova initially distanced herself from the conflict, asking, “What does that have to do with me?” Though, she later conceded, “Well, of course,” when pressed about her familial connection to Putin. She stated, “Unfortunately, I can’t help you. I’m vrey sorry,” when asked to directly intervene. Ultimately, she conveyed, “I’m really sorry that this is happening. Unfortunately, I’m not responsible for this situation. I’m glad you had the courage to come up to me and talk.”
The encounter occurred while Rozova was identified by a Ukrainian television crew. Her mother’s relationship with Putin reportedly resulted in an estimated £75 million fortune, though the extent of Luiza’s current contact with the Russian leader remains unclear.
Putin has neither confirmed nor denied his paternity, and Russian state media is prohibited from mentioning Rozova. She gained prominence on social media in 2020, showcasing a luxurious lifestyle that included private jets and designer fashion. Prior to the invasion of Ukraine, she operated a fashion brand and worked as a DJ, but her online presence diminished substantially shortly before the war, with reports suggesting Putin sought to suppress her public profile.
