Empowering Citizens with Secure Data Sharing: The “Your Data” Project
A new service, launching June 30, 2025, will allow citizens to easily and securely share their water and electricity usage and payment records with financial institutions.Accessible through the “Tang Rat” application, this service enables individuals to utilize this data as supporting documentation when applying for loans and other financial products.
This initiative is a key component of Project ”Your Data,” a collaborative effort between six organizations: the Bank of Thailand, the Digital Government Development Agency (public Organization), the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, and the Provincial Waterworks Authority.
The core mission of Project “Your Data” is to empower citizens by providing them with convenient and secure control over their personal data. By facilitating the digital sharing of records, the project aims to improve access to financial services, streamline operational efficiency for businesses, and foster competition within the financial sector – ultimately benefiting the public. This service represents a significant step towards enabling individuals to exercise their data rights and leverage their information for personal and economic advantage.
