Motta San Giovanni to Host Two-Day Christmas Village Event
Motta San Giovanni, Calabria – A Christmas village encompassing Piazza della Municipalità, Piazza del Minatore, and Piazza Saragat will transform the town center into a festive hub on Saturday, December 13th and Sunday, December 14th, beginning at 5 pm.
The event, spread across over 2,000 square meters, will feature artistic lights, street performers including jugglers and stilt walkers, live music rooted in local traditions, and designated “Instagrammable” areas. Entertainment and games will be provided for children.
More than 50 “little houses” will comprise a Christmas market offering a variety of regional products, including breads, cured meats, cheeses, fried dough, pasta, sausage, ‘nduja, soups, crepes, cotton candy, chestnuts, wine, mulled wine, oil, honey, and Christmas sweets. Gifts such as nativity scenes, perfumes, candles, garlands, decorations, embroidery, and ceramics will also be available for purchase. Artisans demonstrating woodworking, canvas work, embroidery, painting, and musical instrument creation will be present.
A DJ set and a Show cooking event featuring prominent pastry chefs from the metropolitan area are planned. A dedicated children’s area will host Christmas workshops with Disney characters,a Santa Claus house,and a special Post Office for sending letters to Santa.
