Taron Egerton is in talks to star in ‘Alpha,’ a new horror feature from Netflix UK.
teh Kingsman and Rocketman actor is circling the project, which is being produced by Nell and Joby Harold’s Safehouse Pictures. ‘Alpha’ represents a continued investment by Netflix in UK-based horror productions and adds another high-profile name to its growing slate of genre films.
Ozsan Ozsoy,a musician and actor with credits including Dawson’s Creek,90210,The Black List,and Jessica Jones,is developing the film. He is also developing a rally racing car series, The Distance, with 87 north and Universal for David Leitch to direct, and recently completed an Apple mini-room for breaking Eden.
Producer Goldworm has multiple projects set at Netflix, including Hannibal starring Denzel Washington and The Blanks based on Grady hendrix’s novel.He is also producing Ankle Snatcher at Sony and How to Sell a Haunted House at Legendary, and is in post-production on The Swallow.
Safehouse Pictures’ previous credits include Novocaine, the A24 documentary Andre Is an Idiot, Netflix’s Atlas starring Jennifer Lopez, and the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which is currently in post-production for its second season and has a spinoff in development.
Joby Harold wrote and executive produced Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and co-wrote Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Flash, and Netflix’s Army of the dead. safehouse is also actively developing projects such as Backwards with Shawn Levy, The Liberators with Michael B. Jordan, Battle of Britain for Ridley Scott, and The Hider with Robert Downey Jr.
