Ravens Secure future with Mark Andrews’ Three-Year Extension
OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Baltimore Ravens and tight end Mark Andrews have agreed to a three-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday, ensuring the Pro Bowl player remains a key component of the Ravens’ offense. The deal is worth $39.3 million, with $26 million guaranteed, according to sources.
Andrews, 30, was slated to become a free agent following the current season. This extension solidifies his long-term future in Baltimore and provides stability to a passing attack centered around quarterback Lamar Jackson. The move underscores the Ravens’ commitment to retaining core players and building around their established stars as they pursue a Super Bowl championship.
This season, Andrews achieved a rare feat, becoming only the second tight end in NFL history to lead his franchise in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in a single season – joining Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce as the only players to accomplish the milestone. Throughout his career with the Ravens, Andrews has consistently proven to be Jackson’s most trusted target.
“Mark is an all-time Raven – a top competitor and Pro Bowl tight end who is also a big part of our Baltimore community,” said Ravens General Manager eric decosta.
Drafted by Baltimore in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Andrews currently holds the franchise records for receptions (473), receiving yards (5,862), and touchdown catches (56). While his receiving yardage per game has averaged a career-low 27.7 this season, his continued presence is vital to the Ravens’ offensive scheme.
