RIBEIRÃO PIRES,SP – Health officials in Ribeirão Pires are reinforcing efforts to protect adolescents against the human papillomavirus (HPV) with readily available vaccinations at Primary Care units throughout the city.The initiative ensures continued access to the vaccine, a critical preventative measure against HPV-related cancers and diseases.
currently, the HPV vaccine is administered as a single dose to individuals aged 9 to 14, with a temporary extension of eligibility to those aged 15 to 19. This widespread availability aims to maximize protection for the region’s youth,safeguarding their future health and combating the spread of infectious diseases. Residents can access HPV vaccinations – alongside other essential immunizations – Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Basic Health Units (UBS) and Family Health units (USF) across Ribeirão Pires. parents or guardians are urged to bring the child or adolescent’s complete vaccination record to each appointment, allowing healthcare professionals to assess needs and administer all necessary doses.
