J.J. Redick‌ Warns Opponents: suns Will Expose lack of ⁢Effort

Phoenix Suns coach‌ J.J. Redick ‌issued a stark warning to opposing⁤ teams, stating that a lack of intensity will be quickly exposed against his squad. Redick likened the challenge of facing the ⁤Suns⁤ to‌ the “Monstars taking over the peopel⁢ that you’ve grown to coach,” emphasizing⁣ the need for maximum effort. The comments ⁢came ⁣after the Suns defeated⁣ the Los Angeles ⁤Lakers⁤ 128-112 on Monday, extending their record to 13-9.

The Suns ‍overcame adversity in their win over the Lakers, who⁤ entered the ⁣game on a ⁢seven-game⁤ winning streak, after losing star guard Devin Booker to a groin injury in the second quarter. Despite Booker’s absence and grayson Allen’s unavailability,Phoenix ‍was⁣ propelled by strong⁣ performances from Keita Brooks, who scored ⁢33 points, and Collin Gillespie, who contributed a career-high 28 points, including eight three-pointers. Gillespie’s shooting prowess‍ – currently‌ at 44.2% from deep, sixth-best⁤ in the NBA among⁣ players taking at least ⁣five ‍three-pointers per game – was specifically highlighted ⁤by Redick, who noted⁣ opponents were conceding open looks.

Brooks’ ‌performance embodies⁢ the “grit” the Suns are ‌striving to establish, according to reports. The team is navigating a challenging stretch, having recently faced three of the Western Conference’s top four teams.

Phoenix will next face the Houston Rockets on Friday, in a rematch of a November 24th ‌game where Houston defeated the Suns while Kevin Durant was sidelined. Durant has⁤ since returned, setting ⁢up his first contest against ⁣his former team.
