Calahorra City Council to Open new Taxpayer Service Office Following Premises Acquisition
Calahorra, Spain - in a move to improve citizen services, the Calahorra City Council has acquired the premises located at number 2 Teatro Street to house a new Taxpayer Service Office. This decision was among a series of approvals made during a recent Local Government Board session, detailed in a public announcement released today.
the session also saw the awarding of a 7,096 euro contract to the calahorra Municipal Music Band cultural association for performances in January 2026. Additionally, FCC Aqualia SA was awarded a 46,806.03 euro contract to install a drinking water and sanitation network in the parking lot of the victims of Terrorism Park.
The council also moved forward with several contract bidding processes, including collective accident insurance (base tender price of 2,800 euros) and collective life insurance for municipal and dependent entities (91,000 euros) through a framework agreement with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).Both contracts are slated to run for one year, from January 1 to December 31, 2026, with economic offers weighted at 75 points. A tender was also launched for the supply of chemical products for the city’s ornamental fountains, budgeted at 31,678.94 euros for 2026 and 2027, with price as the sole award criterion. Beyond infrastructure and services, the Local Government Board approved a series of subsidy payments totaling thousands of euros to local associations. Recipients included the Calagurritan nativity scene association (1,853.53 euros), the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Scout group (1,581.61 euros and 428.24 euros), the cultural and social professional association of rural areas (1,129.72 euros and 3,000 euros), the youth association of the ‘La Planilla’ Vocational Training Center (1,326.06 euros), the Igual a ti association (576.40 euros), the musical-cultural association of marujas Don’t touch me the castanets (345.84 euros), the Rioja Association of Acquired Brain Injury ARDACEA (410.40 euros), the association of mothers and fathers of the Ángel Oliván school (295.44 euros), the Philips club (2,000 euros), and the Calahorra Bullfighting Club (600 euros). A further 1,292.16 euros was allocated to the Calagurritan nativity scene association for the institution of a nativity scene meeting.
