Black Friday Discounts ‍Diminished⁣ in⁢ Venezuela Amidst Economic ⁣Strain

Maracaibo, Venezuela – November 29, 2025 – black friday shopping in venezuela this year was marked by fewer advertised deals and diminished consumer turnout,‍ a reflection of the ongoing economic challenges and devaluation of the bolivar, according to reports⁣ from across the ⁣contry. ⁤While stores offered discounts on November 28, shoppers expressed concerns over the limited availability of considerable offers ⁣and ‌the necessity of seeking alternative income streams to cope with the country’s financial⁤ situation.

The ‌economic context significantly impacted⁢ the scale of Black Friday⁤ promotions. Venezuela has experienced hyperinflation‌ and a steep devaluation of its currency, the bolivar, in recent years. ⁤This has ‍eroded purchasing power‍ and created economic⁢ instability, influencing both retailers’ ability⁣ to offer deep discounts and consumers’ willingness to spend.

Keisly Villarreal, a teacher and shopper, utilized Black Friday to purchase “the new December clothes” for her daughter. Though, she noted that⁤ many ‍stores appeared to have fewer offers this‌ year. “we must look for alternatives” for income given the economic situation, Villarreal stated. “If we are going to wait for ⁤the salary,⁣ we are in a bad way,” ‍she added,⁤ explaining her decision‌ to work as a manicurist to supplement her teaching income.

In Maracaibo, the capital of⁣ Zulia state, shopping‍ activity began on thursday⁣ night, but a tour of ‌two shopping centers on Friday revealed less Black Friday advertising and fewer buyers compared to previous years. The diminished scale of the event underscores the broader economic pressures facing Venezuelan ⁢consumers and businesses.
