Texas vs. Texas A&M Kickoff Set for 7:30 PM ET on ABC
AUSTIN, TEXAS - The annual rivalry between the University of Texas and Texas A&M resumes friday night at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC. This marks the second contest since the Aggies‘ move to the Southeastern Conference paused the series in 2013, following a 17-7 Longhorns victory in college Station last year.
The historic matchup dates back to 1894, with Texas winning the inaugural game 38-0 in Austin. Throughout the series, Texas leads with an overall record of 77-37-5. Since 2000, the Longhorns have won 10 of 13 games, including four of the last five.
No. 16 Texas (8-3) will host undefeated No. 3 Texas A&M (11-0). The Aggies,coached by Mike Elko - one of the least-paid coaches in the SEC – currently hold a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff rankings. Texas is led by redshirt sophomore quarterback Arch Manning, who is fourth in the SEC with 2,763 passing yards and tied for third with 23 throwing touchdowns.
The broadcast team for ABC will feature Sean McDonough on play-by-play, Greg McElroy as the analyst, and Molly McGrath reporting from the sidelines.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Texas A&M is a 2.5-point favorite. However, ESPN Analytics gives Texas a 51.5% chance of winning. The over/under is set at 52.5 points.
Ahead of the game, Texas A&M is the third favorite (+750) to win the College Football Playoff Championship, trailing Indiana (+500) and Ohio State (+175).
