Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Confident in Lamb, Pickens, and Eyes Chiefs Clash as Season Pivotal
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott expressed unwavering confidence in wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and running back Javonte Williams, as the team prepares for a critical Thursday night matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cowboys currently hold a 5-5-1 record, and Prescott emphasized the urgency of winning every remaining game.
Prescott addressed concerns surrounding Lamb’s recent performance against the philadelphia Eagles, where the receiver struggled with dropped passes. “Huge game,” Prescott said of his expectations for Lamb on Thursday. “Just go back and look at the career, right? Any game that maybe he’s not done to his standard or had a drop here or been a frustrating game, the way he’s responded has been unquestionable. I know early in this year, it was the same way from the first time we played them to his next game, I don’t expect this to be any different.” He pointed to Lamb’s response after key drops in Week 1 against the Eagles, when he followed up with nine catches for 112 yards against the Giants.Lamb also rebounded from an injury sustained in Week 3, recording five catches for 110 yards against the Commanders upon his return.
prescott’s confidence extends to Pickens, praising his ability to win contested catches.”If he’s one on one, he’s not covered. Not in my mind anyways,” Prescott stated. ”I think with the proper ball, any DB out there, just his size, his ability to go up and make a play. It’s not for just him, it’s for CeeDee as well. You get a guy one-on-one with those guys, I have so much confidence in our guys going to make the play.”
Looking ahead to potential roster moves, Prescott also voiced strong support for retaining running back Javonte Williams, who will be a free agent this offseason. “A thousand percent…” prescott said when asked about Williams’ future with the team. “hell yea. How crucial he’s been in this offense, how great of a dude he is, how great of a teammate he is.A quiet guy, but when he speaks it’s definately heard.Anything he does is felt. He’s an vital piece to what we’re doing right now.”
Despite discussing future possibilities, Prescott stressed the team’s immediate focus. “We got to win every game at this point,” he said. “The Philly game doesn’t mean anything right now. Nothing that’s happened up to this point realy means anything other than just put us in a position to be must-win games.”
