Cavs Injury Report: Key Players Out vs. Toronto Raptors

by David Harrison – Chief Editor

Cavs ⁤Face Raptors with Seven Players ⁣Out, Potential ‍for 11th Starting Lineup

TORONTO⁤ – The Cleveland Cavaliers will⁤ be significantly shorthanded Monday night against the Toronto Raptors, with Darius Garland (injury management), De’Andre Hunter (rest), Max ⁢Strus (foot surgery ‌recovery), Sam Merrill (sprained hand), craig Porter Jr. (hamstring) and Jarrett Allen (strained finger) all ruled out. Dean Wade (hyperextended knee) is listed as questionable.

The ⁤mounting injury list comes as the ⁤Cavaliers navigate a⁣ demanding early-season schedule, marking‌ their fourth⁣ back-to-back set and the third game in ⁤four nights. Despite a recent fine for violating the league’s Player Participation Policy, Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson stated he⁤ will continue prioritizing player health and long-term management.

“we’re sticking with the big-picture plan,” Atkinson said, emphasizing ⁢the need to manage the unrelenting schedule.

A source confirmed to‍ cleveland.com that Wade’s availability is unlikely following a knee-to-knee collision with Los Angeles Clippers forward Nicola Batum during Sunday’s 120-105 victory, ‌though he did travel⁢ with the team.

Monday’s game‍ represents the third and final regular season meeting between ‌Cleveland and ⁣Toronto. The Raptors, currently second in the Eastern Conference, are riding a seven-game winning streak and have won the first two matchups⁣ against‍ the Cavaliers this season.

With possibly seven rotational players unavailable, Atkinson may ‍be forced to utilize‌ his 11th different starting lineup of the‌ season. Following the game,⁢ the Cavaliers are scheduled to⁤ receive three days of rest before traveling to ⁢Atlanta for⁤ a Friday matchup.
