Guilers Celebrates Sporting Success, Honors Young Athletes and Dedicated Volunteers
Guilers recognized the achievements of 113 young athletes under the age of 20 and 11 dedicated volunteers at a trophy presentation ceremony Friday, acknowledging a year of success across a diverse range of sports. the event spotlighted accomplishments in disciplines including mountain biking, gymnastics, judo, shooting, and mixed martial arts.
The recognition comes as Guilers continues to build its reputation as an “active and Sporting City,” recently earning its third laurel in the national label program. This distinction underscores the collaborative efforts of local clubs, volunteers, and city officials in fostering athletic development within the municipality. Deputy officials presented association presidents with the “Active and sporting City” plaque,praising their commitment as central to the town’s success.
“Without the commitment of thes presidents, the city would not have these three laurels today. All the credit is for them,” a deputy stated, emphasizing the vital role of volunteer leadership.
Throughout the year, Guilers’ sports clubs secured numerous medals at both regional and departmental championships, demonstrating the high caliber of athletic talent nurtured within the community. The Guilers Tennis Club was prominently represented at the ceremony, alongside the judokas of Dojo Guilérien, who proudly displayed their trophies.
