Former Politician Per Sandberg, 65, Faces Scrutiny Over Girlfriend’s Visa Request
Oslo, Norway - Former Progress Party (FRP) politician Per Sandberg is currently navigating a visa application process for his girlfriend, Lucky, 39, requiring him to demonstrate the legitimacy of their relationship to Norwegian authorities. Sandberg, who now resides in Thailand, confirmed he must provide documentation to support lucky’s application to reside in Norway.
The situation arises as Sandberg has publicly discussed his relocation to Thailand and his intention to eventually relinquish his Norwegian national insurance benefits. His past political career and current lifestyle have drawn public attention, leading to increased scrutiny of his personal affairs. This case highlights the complexities of immigration regulations and the documentation required to establish genuine relationships for visa purposes.
sandberg recently guested on Nettavisen, where he contrasted life in Vietnam, where he claims there is a “pure market economy, there are no taxes and duties,” with Norway, where ”everyone is so spoiled consequently of us living by the social democrats’ old slogan that ‘everyone should join’.” He also stated he receives three times his pension in Vietnam and expressed contentment with a life free from bills, stating, “Today I don’t have a single one. Its lovely.”
He announced earlier this year his permanent relocation to Thailand, where he has established residency, and intends to leave the national insurance system after one year. When asked if this plan would proceed, Sandberg responded, “Yes, it does. Then we’ll see what happens, you never know. But I don’t think it’s possible to get tired of Asia.”
