Lanús Earns $9.845 Million for 2025 Copa Sudamericana Triumph
LUQUE, Paraguay – Lanús of Argentina secured $9.845 million in prize money for winning the 2025 Copa Sudamericana, defeating Atlético Mineiro in a penalty shootout, according to data released by conmebol. This marks Lanús’ second Sudamericana title, following their victory in 2013.
The Granate, coached by Mauricio Pellegrino, accumulated $3.345 million throughout the campaign, including $900,000 for participation in the first phase and $345,000 for topping Group G, which featured Vasco de gama (Brazil), Melgar (Peru), and Academia Puerto Cabello (Venezuela).Further earnings included $600,000 in the round of 16, $700,000 in the quarterfinals, and $800,000 in the semifinals.
The championship victory itself yielded a $6.5 million prize, a $500,000 increase over the amount awarded to 2024 champion Racing club.
Atlético mineiro, managed by Jorge Sampaoli, received a total of $5.730 million as runners-up, comprised of $3.730 million earned during their run and a $2 million prize for finishing second.
Conmebol reported in October that the 2025 Copa Sudamericana distributed a total of $80.132 million to all participating teams, reflecting the institution’s commitment to “strengthening South american football, through professional, transparent management that reinvests in its development.”
