Miss Jamaica Hospitalized in ICU Following Fall at Miss Universe Competition
Bangkok, Thailand – Miss Universe Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry, is receiving intensive care at Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand after a fall during the preliminary competition of Miss Universe 2025 on November 19th. Initial reports indicated she was stable, however, her condition has since worsened.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Association released a statement on November 21st, sharing an update from Henry’s sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, who is currently with their mother, Maureen Henry, at the hospital. “Gabby is not and also we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly,” Dr.Henry-Samuels stated.
According to the organization’s report, Henry will remain in the Intensive care Unit (ICU) for a minimum of seven days while doctors continue to closely monitor her and provide specialized care.
The incident occurred during the evening gown portion of the preliminaries, when the 28-year-old model stepped off the stage while looking upwards. Promptly following the fall, the lights briefly went out, and Raúl Rocha and Nawat Itsaragrisil rushed to assist her as she was unable to stand. Medical personnel then provided first aid before transporting her to the hospital via stretcher.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization is requesting prayers for Henry’s recovery and has asked for respect and discretion during this difficult time. “We earnestly ask Jamaicans at home and throughout the diaspora to continue to keep Gabrielle in their prayers,” the statement read. “We also encourage friends, followers and well-wishers around the world to join together in lifting her up in love, strength and hope.”
the organization also urged the public to refrain from sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that could further distress the family, emphasizing their focus remains on Henry’s recovery and the well-being of her loved ones.
