‘Chhota Bheem‘ Studio Green Gold animation Teams with Red Kite for Adult Animated Action Film ‘The Assassin’
HYDERABAD, INDIA – Green Gold Animation, the Indian studio behind the popular “Chhota Bheem” franchise, is expanding into adult-oriented animation with a co-production partnership with U.K.-based Red Kite Animation.The collaboration will bring to life “The Assassin,” an ultra-cinematic action film set in a near-future metropolis, currently in active advancement.
The project marks a creative departure for Green Gold, known for its family-friendly content. “The Assassin” follows a young man driven to change and rebellion after a devastating industrial tragedy, challenging corporate power within the city.
martyn Pick, director of the CGI action-animation feature ”Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie” (2010), will write and direct the film.Script editing will be handled by Martha MacDiarmid, whose previous work includes “nessie Junior,” continuing a creative relationship with Red Kite.

Visual development is being led by Pick in collaboration with Green Gold’s design team in Hyderabad, establishing the film’s stylistic foundation.

The film aims to qualify under the India-U.K. Co-Production Treaty, with production planned across both countries.Financing will include the U.K.’s Autonomous Film Tax Credit, with both studios participating as equitable partners throughout development, production, and distribution. The project will utilize a combination of guerrilla live-action, rotoscoping, and high-end animation techniques.
