Flydubai to Introduce Premium Economy Class with Boeing 787 Dreamliner Fleet
DUBAI – Flydubai announced today it will launch a Premium Economy Class for the first time in its history, coinciding with the delivery of its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.The move expands the carrier’s cabin options to include Economy, Premium Economy, and business Class.
this expansion signals Flydubai’s ambition to cater to a broader range of travelers and compete on long-haul routes. The introduction of Premium Economy, coupled with the advanced capabilities of the Dreamliner, will allow the airline to offer enhanced comfort and service on longer flights. Flydubai secured a deal for 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners at the 2023 Dubai Airshow, valued at up to $11 billion, with deliveries expected in the coming years.
According to Al Ghaith, this step is part of the company’s broader plans for growth and providing passengers with more choices. “Premium Economy Class comes within the framework of providing wider options for travelers,” he stated on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025. The new aircraft and cabin class are expected to substantially impact Flydubai’s ability to attract passengers seeking a step up from Economy without the price tag of Business Class.
