An XXL Weekend of Culture in Córdoba: Plays, Cinema, Music & Art Await
Córdoba City is brimming with cultural offerings this weekend, presenting a diverse program of events from theatrical readings to open-air cinema, live music and a wealth of art exhibitions. Teh activities are particularly focused on celebrating Polish heritage and showcasing emerging local talent.
the weekend kicks off with “Second Polish Reading Afternoons,” honoring both the recovery of Polish independence and the past ties between the Polish community and the Güemes neighborhood.
Friday evening centers around Plaza España, with the Metropolitan Museum of Urban Art (MMAU) hosting a free Band Festival from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. featuring rising artists Lopsis, Rosario Serafín, Daltónica, and Hollywood Bungalows. Following the music, the esplanade will transform into an open-air cinema for a screening of “shrek 2” at 9:00 p.m., presented as part of the Cine Viper Club series.
Saturday offers a comedic highlight with Fernanda Salomón’s show “Have fun with me” at the Paseo de las Artes Cultural Center (Pje. Revol 299) at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. Later, the MMAU will present “Provided that there is something to tell,” a cycle of short films from Córdoba showcasing the work of emerging artists from the last five years (8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.).
Art enthusiasts will find a rich selection of exhibitions to explore throughout the city. The MMAU currently features “Graphic that feels,” exploring the intersection of emotion, politics, and graphic design, and ”Essay for a collective archive,” a retrospective installation by La Casa mutante spanning 2020-2025.
the Genaro Pérez Museum (Gral. Paz, 33) hosts three exhibitions: “A garden with thorns,” a review of the nude in art; “P/A,” rediscovering the art of engraving; and ”Pictures under the magnifying glass,” offering a glimpse into art conservation and restoration.
Further enriching the cultural landscape, the historic Town Hall displays “I’m going to light a candle for everything I can’t put into words,” focusing on spirituality and fantastic universes. In the Güemes neighborhood, Casa de Pepino (Fructuoso Rivera 287) celebrates it’s 20th anniversary with the “Puerto Inspirado” exhibition, featuring over 20 artists. Also in Güemes, Anahí Maldonado’s “Childhood, footprint and matter” is on display until March 2026, inviting reflection on memory and identity. the Alta Córdoba Cultural Center presents “Representaciones Soñadas” by Noelia Oviedo, Desireé Delbón and Alicia Scavino, a dialogue between abstraction and realism in drawing and painting.
