Title: Region Dalarna’s Nobel Week Research Showcase

Falu, Sweden – Region Dalarna is⁣ hosting Nobel ‌Week events from December ⁤8-12, showcasing⁤ the region’s ‍ongoing research and innovation in healthcare.​ The initiative aims to connect residents‌ and employees with the advancements happening⁣ locally and highlight the impact of new knowlege on people’s lives.

Region Dalarna currently supports nearly 200 research studies, conducted by over 100 research-educated employees, who‍ have collectively contributed to over 1,200 scientific articles as 2020.

“With Nobel Week, we want ⁣to invite both​ employees ​and residents to discover the research⁤ and innovation ⁤that develops‍ the⁤ region and care in ⁣Dalarna every day,” said Björn Äng, Research director of Region Dalarna. “We want to show‍ how ‍new knowledge and​ new ideas‌ actually make a ‌difference to⁢ people’s lives.”

The program includes a diverse range of⁢ presentations ⁤and talks. On‌ December 10th, research‌ nurses at Falu Hospital will host an open house with presentations, conversations, and coffee, offering insights ⁣into ​combining nursing with research. Maria Hjorth, a​ nurse at Falu Hospital, stated, “It really feels good to be able to spread what we nurses work with to ⁤the public and colleagues. Both to‌ be told about our ‌research results and about ‌what it’s like to combine work as a researcher and a nurse.”

Other topics covered throughout the week include‍ the role of hospital libraries in accessing research, ‌the impact of⁤ evening snacks on sleep, the scientific evaluation ‌of hospital clowning and digital apps for care, ‌the health effects ⁤of coffee, new obesity medications, the link between infectious diseases and climate change, and public ⁢acceptance of new technologies.
