Quannacut Clinic in Riverhead Now licensed to Provide Mental Health Services
RIVERHEAD, NY – Stony Brook eastern Long Island Hospital’s Quannacut outpatient clinic has received licensure as a mental health services clinic, expanding its range of care to include complete mental health support for individuals and families. A ribbon-cutting and reception were held this month to celebrate the milestone.
The clinic, located at 905 East Main Street, moved to the larger space in 2019 to accommodate increasing demand for outpatient services. Quannacut now offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, social work, mental health counseling, individual and group therapy, and peer services.
“Irrespective of what’s going on,…you know that we can definitely help, that we’re here. We’re here for the kids. We’re here for the parents,” said Janet Jackowski, vice president, behavioral health/social services at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.
Under the leadership of Medical Director Dr. Jared Pachter, Quannacut also provides primary care services. Dr. Pachter is a certified family medicine practitioner and addiction medicine provider, and has advocated for integrated care, allowing patients to receive both medical and mental health services in one location.
“Dr. Pachter is a duly certified family medicine practitioner and an addiction medicine provider, and has always been a strong advocate for not only the populations that we serve, but also the benefits of integrating care for all of these things under one roof, so that people can come to one place and get all of their needs and their medical needs met,” Jackowski said.
Jackowski emphasized the clinic’s holistic approach to patient care. “I think that really is sort of what ties everything together…The staff there, and everybody there wants to work with individuals in a holistic manner, and not just by disease,” she said.
