Puerto Plata Man Races Against Time for Life-Saving Heart Surgery
PUERTO PLATA, Dominican Republic – A Puerto Plata family is urgently seeking financial assistance to cover the cost of critical cardiovascular surgery for Luis Jerameel Beltré Pérez, 54, who requires an immediate aortic prosthesis replacement. The surgery is estimated to cost two million Dominican pesos.
beltré Pérez was recently diagnosed with an aortic syndrome necessitating the implant in his thoracic aorta. After 12 days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Clínica Unión Médica del Norte in Santiago, he was discharged as a low-risk patient, but remains unable to receive the life-saving procedure due to financial constraints. Without timely intervention, specialists warn of the potential for internal bleeding, multiple organ failure, or even death.
“We are at the limit of time,” said Rosa Albania Álvarez,Beltré Pérez’s wife, expressing her family’s desperation. The prosthesis has already been ordered, but cannot be utilized until full payment is received.
The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary funds: https://www.gofundme.com/f/donacion-urgente-para-cirugia-cardiovascular-de-familiar.
