New TV Show Could Put Cupertino in the National Spotlight
Cupertino, CA – A new television show filming in the area has the potential to substantially raise Cupertino’s profile nationally, with final approval for filming locations scheduled for a December 2nd vote. the series, details of which remain undisclosed, could showcase the city beyond its reputation as a global technology hub.
While the specific production remains under wraps, the prospect of national exposure has already generated excitement among local business leaders. Claudio Bono, president-elect of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce and managing director of the Cupertino Hotel, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “As a hotelier who travels the globe to promote our city as a premier leisure destination, I’ve long advocated that Cupertino is so much more then its tech reputation.” He emphasized the city’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty, adding, “We are home to the world’s first trillion-dollar company, yes - but we’re also rich in history, culture and natural beauty.”
This wouldn’t be Cupertino’s first encounter with Hollywood. In 2015, the biopic “Steve Jobs,” starring michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet, utilized the Flint Center on the DeAnza College campus as a filming location before the building’s demolition. The current potential for a television series offers a more sustained possibility to highlight the city’s diverse offerings to a wider audience.
The december 2nd vote will determine the specific locations within Cupertino approved for filming, paving the way for production to begin and possibly ushering in a new era of visibility for the city.
