Latvian duo Krīviņš/Šamova Crowned World U21 Standard Dance Champions
Salaspils, latvia – Raimonds Krīviņš and Elīna Šamova have secured the World U21 Championship title in Standard dances, marking a meaningful achievement for Latvian dance sport. The victory took place at a recent competition in Salaspils.
The European Youth Championship saw Mateusz Stavovijs/Sara Silva (Poland) finish fourth, positioning them as potential medalists at this year’s European Championship. Lithuania’s Pijus Palskis and Latvian dancer Anna Bērziņa, former European vice-champions, placed fifth, while Timožs Olejaržs/Viktorija Kurda (Poland) – the World Youth Vice-Champions – finished sixth.
Ivans Ignatenko/Estere Anna siliniece, winners of the Valts U21 championship, achieved 11th place at the European Championship. Oļegs Bērziņš/Amanda Meinarte and Roberts Meikšāns/Viktorija Smoļina shared 14th-16th place, with Meikšāns/Smoļina recently finishing 13th at the Youth World Championship. Klāvs Kokin, with Lithuanian partner Sauli Endriukaititi, reached the quarter-finals, placing 21st.
In WDSF ranking competitions, Roman Dobrevtsov/Violeta Levchneko, World Championship finalists in 10 dances, secured second place in Standard and third in Latin American dances. Vincencs Torremade/Maggie Dana Morite won the Latin American competition.
Kristiāns Kalvāns/Dana Lebedeva triumphed in the Latin American dance for young people (16-18 years) and placed third in Standard, where Roberts Meikšāns/Viktorija Smoļina were runners-up. Ivo Zvaigzne/aleksija Pavlova earned third place in Standard at the Dance Sport Europe Grand Prix for juniors II (14-15 years), while Marats Kurbatovs/Paula Kolča secured second in Latin American.
For Juniors I (12-13 years), Oskar Vasiļjev/Eva dmitrichenko won the Standard dance and placed second in Latin American, while markus Kalniņš/Jesica Morderer were second and third respectively.Timur Trokša/Beāte Bolbāte won the Standard dance for children.
