Manama, Bahrain – November 14, 2023 – Team ACERS clinched the championship title at The Indian Club Members Team Championship Badminton Tournament, concluding November 13th at the Public Security Officers’ club. The victory marks a high point for the team after a week-long competition showcasing the talent within The Indian Club’s Badminton Section.
the tournament, which began November 8th, drew over 80 participants-including more than ten female players-competing in Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles events. This annual competition fosters camaraderie and athletic spirit among the Indian Club’s membership, providing a platform for competitive play and community engagement. The results will determine team standings for the following year’s tournament and inspire continued participation in the club’s badminton activities.
The final match proved intensely competitive, culminating in a 3-2 victory for Team ACERS, captained by Togi Mathew, over Team IC WOLFS, lead by Captain N.S. Jain. The closely contested final captivated spectators and highlighted the skill level of both teams.
During the prize distribution ceremony, the Indian club President Joseph Joy, General Secretary Anil Kumar R., and Badminton Secretary Binu Pappachen presented trophies to the winners and runners-up.Both teams also received an ever-rolling trophy recognizing their achievement. Sponsors Nahaz Ommer of Value Line Trading and Satheesh Mohan of NAPCO National were also in attendance.
