Trenton Volleyball Advances to State Quarterfinals After Defeating Allen Park
TRENTON, MI – November 13, 2025 – The Trenton high School volleyball team secured a Division 1 regional championship Thursday night, defeating Allen Park in a decisive match and claiming the rubber match between the two Downriver rivals.The victory sends trenton to the state quarterfinals, where they will face No. 3-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy.
the win marks a important achievement for Trenton, solidifying their position as a force in Downriver volleyball and earning them a spot among the top teams in the state. It also concludes the season for Allen Park, ending the careers of seven graduating seniors.
“It feels like it keeps getting better each year,” Trenton coach Martin said.”This year, I’ve been almost speechless. They have set the standard their leadership. There was no clique, which can be common in high school. They played such a big part,even in a high-emotion night like tonight.” Martin added, “They really set the tone for this program.”
Trenton will face Farmington Hills Mercy in a state quarterfinal game on Tuesday, November 18 at Hartland High School.
Trenton is one of three local programs to win regional titles on Thursday, joining Flat Rock and Allen Park Inter-City Baptist. Trenton coach Sammons expressed gratitude for the community support and the possibility to represent Downriver in the playoffs.
“It was one of our main goals this season, to make Downriver volleyball known,” Sammons said. “We’re not going anywhere, especially Trenton volleyball. To be together and see the support, I think that’s really starting to come around here at Trenton. I’m thankful for the Trenton community. They showed up tonight for us. That’s a big deal and I think that’s going to be the new trend.”
