Gasly Attributes Brazil Breakthrough to Reset After Sprint Race Setback
São Paulo, Brazil – November 12, 2025 – Pierre gasly secured his first points as the Belgian Grand Prix at the São Paulo grand Prix, citing a critically important shift in performance following a challenging Sprint race. The Alpine driver finished 10th in SundayS race, marking a crucial return to form after a difficult period.
Gasly’s weekend initially took a downturn wiht a collision at the start of the Sprint race, triggered by contact with Lewis Hamilton, and a subsequent crash while battling for position. He explained that the incident and its aftermath disrupted the team’s progress with his car, leading to a loss of pace. This setback, however, ultimately prompted a beneficial reset.
“I think definitely after the Sprint race, we were on the back foot a bit and just struggled as a team on my car, on my side of the garage,” Gasly stated. “I struggled more as I kind of lost the pace that I had on Friday. It was easier to fix the little things on Friday, and we were in a good position already in the Sprint, then everything became a little bit more difficult.”
despite finishing 15th in the Grand Prix, Colapinto did not place blame on Hamilton for the challenging race. He identified the spin during the Sprint as the pivotal moment that altered the trajectory of his weekend. Gasly’s points finish in Brazil is a welcome boost for Alpine as the team continues to develop its 2026 challenger, with the driver confirmed to remain with the squad through that season.
