Amarillo Blood Center Urges Donations During Critical Holiday Season

Coffee Memorial Blood Center is calling on the community to give the gift of life this holiday season through blood donation. A single donation has the remarkable potential to save up to three lives, ensuring hospitals have the supplies needed to treat patients during a traditionally challenging time for blood availability.
Donors who contribute between november 10th and December 25th will receive a limited-edition,long-sleeve t-shirt as a thank you gift. The festive design features a playful take on Charles Dickens’ Ebenezer scrooge, with the message “Don’t Get Ghosted.”
“Just as Scrooge learned from the Spirits of Christmas, this campaign reminds us that generosity can change the future,” said Dr. John Armitage, President and CEO of Coffee Memorial Blood Center. “A blood donation has the power to bring hope and healing to patients in need this holiday season.”
Eligibility requirements are straightforward: individuals must be at least 16 years old and in good health. The need for blood is constant, and donations are crucial for supporting patients undergoing surgery, battling illness, and recovering from trauma.
