ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men’s hockey team surged too No. 2 in the nation, as reflected in the latest NCAA division III polls released Monday. The Bulldogs now hold the No. 2 position in both the USCHO.com and DIIIHockeyNews rankings, marking a significant rise for the program.
Adrian’s ascent follows a dominant weekend sweep of marian University in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) competition. Friday’s contest ended in a 5-1 victory for the Bulldogs, followed by an 8-1 win on Saturday, propelling them up the national standings. The DIIIHockeyNews poll also saw Adrian garnering one first-place vote.
This ranking underscores adrian’s strong start to the season and positions them as a key contender in the NCHA and across Division III hockey. The Bulldogs’ success impacts the conference’s national profile and sets the stage for crucial upcoming matchups. Their next challenge is a pivotal road series against No.3 Aurora University on November 14-15, with implications for both teams’ playoff positioning.
Within the NCHA, Aurora University is ranked No. 3 in both polls, and St. Norbert College holds the No. 4 spot.Trine University also received national recognition, appearing at No. 11 in the USCHO.com poll and No.12 in the DIIIHockeyNews rankings.
