Men’s Tennis Dominates Boston College, Kennesaw State at Stetson Invitational

UNF Men’s Tennis secures Wins Against Boston College,Faces Challenges at Stetson Invitational

deland,FL – November 9,2025 – The University of North Florida (UNF) Ospreys men’s tennis‌ team demonstrated strong form this weekend,achieving victories​ over Boston College in singles play before competing ​at the Stetson Invitational. The team’s performance signals a promising start‌ to thier fall season as they prepare for upcoming spring competition.

The Ospreys‌ initially battled Boston College on ‌Saturday, November 8, 2025, ⁢securing three individual singles ​wins. Lucas Rao of Boston College was defeated by UNF’s Gabriel Piqueras ‌with a score of 6-3, 2-6, 10-2. Piqueras also triumphed over ‌Luc Piacentini of‍ Boston College in a closely contested match, winning 5-7, 6-2, 10-4. Adding to UNF’s success,Youssef Labbene secured a decisive victory against teammate Enrique Pena,winning 6-3,6-4.

The following day, November 9, 2025,⁤ UNF faced Stetson​ University in⁣ doubles competition at the‌ Stetson Invitational. Despite⁢ a valiant‍ effort, the Ospreys where unable⁣ to⁣ secure‌ a win, falling in all four matches. Alexandre Verlaguet and Kartik Mandla of Stetson defeated Breno Marques and Andreas Scott (UNF) 7-5. Xavier Sarda Marti ⁣and Marc Saura (SU)​ overcame Enrique Pena and⁣ Jean ⁣Deloziere (UNF) 6-2. Santiago Padilla Cote and Christian Kuehne (SU) ‍bested João Portugal and Youssef Labbene (UNF) 6-1, and Mateya⁣ Stanisavljevic and Mihnea ​Maftei (SU) defeated gabriel piqueras and Kyle Piqueras (UNF) 6-3.

These⁣ early-season matches‌ provide valuable experience for the Ospreys as they continue to refine their strategies and build team cohesion. The team will use the insights gained ⁣from the Stetson Invitational to prepare ‌for their next series of competitions,aiming to build on their initial success against Boston College and improve their performance in doubles play.
