Warsaw, Poland – November 19, 2023 – A surprising twist in the 17th edition of Dancing with the Stars has expanded the finale to include not two, but three couples. Following two rounds of competition and a viewer vote, maurycy Popiel and Sara Janicka, as well as Mikołaj “Bagi” Bagiński and Magdalena Tarnowska initially secured their places in the final. A subsequent tournament-style cha-cha challenge determined the third finalist: Wiktoria Gorodecka and Kamil Kuroczko,unanimously chosen by the jury.
The expanded finale comes after a competitive semi-final round where Wiktoria Gorodecka and Kamil Kuroczko,Katarzyna Zillmann and Janja Lesar,Maurycy Popiel and Sara Janicka,Mikołaj “Bagi” Bagiński and Magdalena Tarnowska,and Tomasz Karolak and Izabela Skierska vied for a spot. Judges praised Gorodecka and Kuroczko’s performance, with Ewa Kasprzyk noting it “reminds me of Buena Vista Social club,” and adding, “Wiktoria, everything is working for you, everything is spinning, our heads are spinning when we look at you.” Tomasz Wygoda awarded them a perfect 10,stating they “created a hot atmosphere” and demonstrated “soft joints but strong accents.” Iwona pavlović also awarded a 10, bringing their total points to 40.
The final cha-cha tournament saw each couple perform together, with the jury evaluating technique, style, class, and spatial awareness. The unanimous decision to advance Gorodecka and Kuroczko sets the stage for a three-way showdown in the finale, scheduled to air Sunday at 19:55 on Polsat.
