Adriana karembeu Links Hair Conversion to newfound Happiness with Marc Lavoine
PARIS – Model and television personality Adriana Karembeu revealed the emotional reasoning behind her recent dramatic haircut,connecting the change to her relationship with singer marc Lavoine.The 50-year-old Karembeu, who began a relationship with Lavoine in June 2024, explained in a recent interview on TF1‘s “50 minutes inside” that shedding her signature long blonde hair symbolized a broader shift in her life and a newfound sense of freedom.
For years, Karembeu defined herself by her appearance – ”the tall blonde with the big chest,” as she described it, even referring to herself as “the big Barbie.” However, she stated that embracing happiness with Lavoine prompted a reevaluation of her identity and a willingness to relinquish that long-held image. This personal evolution,she explained,allowed her to finally express a simple sentiment she previously struggled to articulate: “I am happy.”
“I never would have imagined this,” Karembeu said, visibly moved during the interview.”My hair was my signature. It did me good… I said to myself, ‘Hey, I don’t need that much hair.’ When a woman changes something important in her life, she cuts her hair. I cut my hair.” The former model became emotional while discussing the connection between the haircut and her relationship, admitting, “I am very sensitive.”
Karembeu further elaborated that she previously felt hesitant to openly acknowledge her happiness,burdened by past “worries and problems.” She confessed to feeling like an “imposter” before, but now feels liberated from those anxieties. “It’s still the same but it’s a little different, and I’m very happy,” she stated.
