Syracuse Leads Delaware State 32-16 with 15:44 Remaining in First Half
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse is dominating Delaware State early, leading 32-16 with 15:44 remaining in the first half. The Orange is a 27.5-point favorite in the non-conference matchup.
Syracuse started freshman Kiyan Anthony at guard with senior JJ starling sidelined due to a lower-body injury to his right leg; he is considered day-to-day. In Monday night’s 85-47 victory against Binghamton, Syracuse forced 22 turnovers and recorded 11 steals.
Delaware State’s top scorer in their season opener, an 83-65 loss to Temple, was Zion Bethea, a New Jersey native currently on his fifth school in five years. The Hornets were picked to finish fifth in the eight-team MEAC preseason poll. Syracuse has a week off before facing Drexel next Saturday in Philadelphia.
