by David Harrison – Chief Editor

SAN FRANCISCO – Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry will sit out Friday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets due to ‌a‍ worsening illness, the team⁢ announced. The absence marks Curry’s second consecutive missed⁣ game as he battles symptoms that began following a recent road trip.

Curry initially experienced ‌the illness leading into tuesday night’s contest against the⁣ Phoenix Suns, where he scored 28 points in 34 minutes‍ despite feeling unwell. ‍He publicly acknowledged feeling fatigued ⁤during the second half of that game, coughing and sniffling during ⁣his postgame press conference. ⁤The‌ Warriors ⁣immediately ruled him out of Wednesday’s game against the‍ Sacramento ⁤Kings, wich ‌they lost.

According to Warriors coach Steve Kerr, Curry reported his symptoms ⁤were continuing ⁢to worsen⁤ in text exchanges. Curry⁤ will remain home to ‍rest and is not expected to ⁣travel ⁣with the team ⁣to Denver. He is currently slated‍ to return for Sunday night’s ‍game against the Indiana Pacers in San Francisco.

The ⁢Nuggets game also serves⁤ as the Warriors’ NBA In-Season Tournament opener. In addition to Curry’s absence, Draymond Green is listed as probable with a ‌rib contusion and Jimmy ‌Butler is questionable with a lower back strain. Both‍ Green and Butler missed ‍the Kings game but are hopeful to play against Denver,Kerr stated.
