Manchester United ⁤Striker Benjamin Sesko ⁣Urged to Ignore Criticism as He Adapts to Premier League

CARINGTON, England -⁣ Manchester united manager Amorim‌ has defended striker Benjamin Sesko amid recent criticism of his performances,‌ asserting the ‌22-year-old should not take the commentary personally as he adjusts to a new league. Sesko has struggled to replicate his form since joining the club, last scoring on October 4th against Sunderland at ⁢Old Trafford.

Amorim acknowledged the validity of concerns raised, including those from former United captain Gary Neville who recently stated Sesko⁢ was ⁤”miles ‍off” the level of fellow new⁤ signings Matheus‍ Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. However, Amorim ⁢emphasized the context of Sesko’s transition, having spent only two seasons in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig before arriving at United.‍ “I’m relaxed,” Amorim stated, “[But] he’s‌ not relaxed.”

The manager explained the challenges facing Sesko, ⁤noting the high expectations⁤ placed upon him and the intense scrutiny at a club like Manchester United. “The ⁤first impact [is] when everyone says that you⁤ are so good, you are the next big thing and you hear that about Sesko,” Amorim said. “Then you come to one club that is the hardest club.⁢ If you don’t perform every week, you are going to hear a⁢ lot of things…and sometimes they are right.” He ⁣added, “Of course, nobody ‍likes to hear but he struggled a little bit, and that is a fact. ⁤so, ⁣let’s embrace that.”

Sesko is reportedly dedicating significant time to training, consistently arriving⁣ at Carrington more than ⁤90 minutes before scheduled sessions and staying until 16:00, well after most teammates have departed, to refine his performance levels.

Despite Sesko’s current difficulties, ‍United remains confident ‍in the signing, even while loaning out rasmus Hojlund to Napoli, where‌ the Dane has‍ scored four ⁣goals ⁤in nine appearances. Amorim described ⁢Sesko as a “control freak” who is learning to manage expectations.”He wants‍ to control everything – and he’s not going to control everything,” Amorim said. “He has more ‌potential than I ⁣was thinking…but we need to understand how he likes to play and also to put in our ideas.”‌

Amorim concluded by reiterating his long-term ‍belief in Sesko’s potential, stating, “He is going to be our striker for the long term but he’s going to have these struggles and these bumps during the ⁣ride. That is ‍a normal thing in football.”
