Reinvent the Film: Domestic – Poster Redesign Challenge
1️⃣ The Poster
Select a film and reimagine its promotional poster. All mediums are welcome – illustration, collage, photography, 3D rendering, or graphic design. Consider a traditional one-sheet design, a minimalist teaser, or a completely new interpretation.
2️⃣ Concept
Briefly explain your approach (1-3 lines).Detail why you chose this film, the atmosphere or theme you’re emphasizing, and the core narrative your poster conveys at a glance.
3️⃣ Creative process
Demonstrate at least two key stages of your design advancement. This could include thumbnail sketches, mood boards, composition/hierarchy explorations, typography tests, color studies, or 3D mockups. each stage must be accompanied by an image and a concise caption explaining the decision-making process.
4️⃣ Final piece
Present your completed poster design. Include the film title and, optionally, a billing block or tagline. A mockup showcasing the poster in a real-world setting (cinema, bus stop, streaming platform) is a valuable addition.
5️⃣ Tools & Materials
List all tools and materials used in your design process. This includes traditional media like pencils, markers, paints, and cameras, as well as digital software such as Photoshop, illustrator, Procreate, Affinity, or Blender. note any textures or stock assets utilized.
6️⃣ Creative Guidance
Begin wiht a concise one-line logline for the film. Prioritize a strong focal point and verify readability through thumbnail testing. Maintain a limited color palette, utilize typography to direct the viewer’s eye, and employ contrast to establish the desired tone.
⚠️ Vital Note: Submissions must clearly document each step of the creative process to be considered.
