LOST SHDWS, the handmade workwear brand, is gaining rapid recognition after dressing high-profile figures like Offset and Kai Cenat. What began as a personal hobby has quickly evolved into a burgeoning fashion label, fueled by a pivotal connection with custom sneaker designer John Geiger and a surge in demand.
The brand, founded by Skylark, represents a turning point for the designer, who transformed a passion into a thriving business despite facing personal challenges. skylark’s designs-including sun-painted denim, hoodies, and sweat sets-are deeply rooted in his life experiences, reflecting themes of family, grief, perseverance, and purpose. The brand’s ideology centers on finding light even in darkness, symbolized by the enduring presence of one’s shadow.
The momentum for LOST SHDWS began building before the pandemic, as Skylark shared photos of his clothing on Instagram, attracting direct messages from interested followers. A significant catalyst arrived when John Geiger, a leading figure in custom footwear, contacted Skylark after seeing his work. Geiger commissioned a pair of pants for Art Basel, an order that promptly propelled Skylark from receiving zero orders to an overwhelming 500. “I was like, ‘oh snap, my life is changing,'” Skylark recalls.
“Even in the darkest moments, the sun is still on you. Your shadow is always with you, no matter what,” Skylark explains, articulating the core design principle behind LOST SHDWS. The brand’s growing visibility, evidenced by its recent placements with Offset and Kai Cenat, signals a potential shift in the workwear landscape, offering a unique blend of artistry and personal narrative.
